Artists were provided with "installation space" in empty storefront windows. I think it was done under the care of AS220. I'd call them to find out more about how this kind of project can be brought about. I'd be interested in helping you, just not sure how committed to the cause I can be right now! A few suggestions--Hannah Copperman Brown '08 is heavily into public art and a NY-er now living in DC. See if she knows who handles this. Aaron Stanton '08 currently lives in NY and works for the city, in the emergency management division (ie security, natural/weather disasters) etc. Justin Spiegel '08 is a NYer with a heavily political bent who might know this too.
