Win $25 and find me a new email address!

May 8, 2009 – 1:12 pm

Not this much money...

Alright, let's test out this whole capitalism thing...

What does $25 mean to you? It’s two cheap meals or one nice one. A trip to the top of the Empire State Building. A bus ride across the Northeast. A tank of gas. A handie in some places and a mouthie in others (though I recommend you partake of neither.)

What it means to me is a few idle minutes of your time thinking of a new email address for me. When my boss (endearingly) started calling me Mikeyla, I knew it was finally time to choose a professional one.

I want one that is professional but not overwhelmingly so. One that is available on gmail.com is preferred. Some examples of my thought process:

  • michael.j.morgenstern@gmail I have, but it’s too hard to spell.
  • mikem@alumni.brown.edu is overkill
  • michael@morgenstern.com is available, but again overkill
  • michael.jm@gmail.com would be perfect but it’s not available
  • michael.motorcycle@gmail.com is taken, but maybe it’s along the lines of something that would work.
  • anything@mjmfilms.com I can take, but again, too much.

Anything with mike or michael or incorporating film in some form is a good idea. My middle name is Jared and my birthdate is 6/20/1985. The emphasis is anything that is hard to misspell and easy to remember.

The prize will only be given if I approve and use the address. I’ll send it to you via PayPal or in person. Please put your submissions in the comments of my blog.

Good luck!

hahaha @ WhoHereLikesToCuddle. Morgenstern620 is getting there, but it’s still hard to spell or remember intuitively. These could be the one, though. Anyone got anything better?

    Why not keep Michael@mjmfilms.com?

That’s the first one I thought of, then I saw it’s already what you connect to on your “Contact” link. And you probably know, but you can always forward that mail to gmail.

    Otherwise…

    MJMfilms@gmail.com
    JawsCuidado@gmail.com is actually my favorite

Honestly, I think a non-gmail account is preferable, even if it ends up going to gmail. Gmail may be to “20-something-to-30-something, casual”.

    Alston has recommended mike-in-film@gmail.com

    Suza says:
i think it should just have morg…
    like mike.morg@gmail or michael.morg..
morg is easy to spell and its the beginign of your name
i dunno if you dont want to keep your last name because your worried its too hard to spell you can just try mjmfilms or michaelm….

    Samer says:
    michaeljmovie and morganjmovie are available

Michael@mjmfilms.com is easy to remember and not pretentious. So long as people hear it as MJM and not MGM

mike@mjmfilms.com is even less so. I call the cash if you go with it. :D

This is a surprisingly difficult exercise, but I’ll let you know if anything pops up.
